Financial Planning

Hourly Planning – $300/hour

Hourly Planning is ideal for someone who may only have one or two questions they’d like answered.

  • How do I manage my debt?
  • How do I set up a budget?
  • Do I need a trust?
  • Is my business being taxed in the most efficient way?
  • How do I take advantage of my employee benefits and 401k?

At the end of our meeting, you’ll receive a written summary via email for you to use to follow through.

One-Time Financial Plan – $750-$5,000

A one-time plan involves a deep dive into your overall situation and results in a comprehensive set of goals and areas to focus on and the steps you need to take for successful implementation. This plan will ideally put you on the right track to reach your goals, and will identify where you need to make adjustments.

Includes:

  • Discovery Meeting:  discuss where you are and where you want to go
  • Data Gathering:  you’ll provide us with all of the stuff we need to build out your plan
  • Comprehensive Financial Planning Analysis:  we’ll review your entire financial picture, including cash flow analysis, net worth, investments, and protection, and devise an itemized action plan
  • Plan Delivery Meeting:  we’ll review our findings and discuss how to address each issue

(If you decide to take advantage of the Ongoing Financial Planning service within a year of our meeting, you will be credited the amount towards the upfront fee).

Ongoing Financial Plan – $100-$300/month

Ongoing Financial Planning is a service that helps you identify your goals and provides actionable steps to achieve long-term financial growth. Situations change. Tax laws change. Life changes. Ongoing planning is designed to allow for proactive and reactive adjustments to life’s ever-changing circumstances. We’ll meet regularly to review changes and make tweaks to your plan.

Initially, the steps are the same as the One-Time Financial Plan. However, you will meet regularly with Cadenza Financial Planning for reviews and to discuss progress toward your goals.

Throughout the year, every year, we’ll look at things like:

  • Annuity, life and long-term care insurance reviews and analyses
  • Trust review and beneficiary designations
  • Employer-sponsored retirement plan review
  • Investment model review and rebalance opportunities
  • Asset protection review
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Entity, corporation, business structure review
  • Tax planning
  • Estate planning
  • Charitable giving
  • Roth conversion analysis
  • Debt and liability review
  • Rental real estate ROI analysis
  • Required Minimum Distributions
  • Latest tax and legal issues relevant to you and your business

Pricing:  Up-front planning fee of $1,000 and $100-$300/month with a year commitment. (Clients with more than $200,000 enrolled in Total Management will be waived the monthly fee).

Investment Management

Investment Management – 1% of assets under management per year

Investment Management plays an important role in any long-term financial plan. We’ll look at your comfort level regarding risk, your time horizon, your income needs, and your retirement goals. We’ll also look at tax efficiencies and consequences associated with making changes to your existing portfolio.

Our goal is to develop a diversified portfolio based upon your risk tolerance and time horizon. Unfortunately, with 95% of “wealth” and “investment” advisors, that’s where the work ends.

With Cadenza, however, we then add the layer of achieving Gamma through tax optimization. Not only is it important to keep the costs of your investments down, but studies have proven the boost to long-term results that can be achieved with placing the parts of your portfolio in the most tax-advantaged accounts.

How long-term and short-term capital gains are realized, how tax swaps and tax-loss harvesting is implemented, how your pre-tax and after-tax savings and investments are structured, and optimizing the location of your specific investments…all of these are tangible value-adds to your investment strategy regardless of what the stock market does.

COST:  Tiered pricing starts at 1.00% of assets under management per year.

Total Management – 1.5% of assets under management per year

Total Management combines Ongoing Financial Planning, Tax Planning and Preparation, and Investment Management into one comprehensive service. Regular ongoing planning meetings as well as investment management positions Cadenza Financial Planning as your own personal “CFO.”

Total Management is where Cadenza Financial Planning can have the most impact on your overall financial blueprint. Having oversight and visibility into your entire financial plan allows Cadenza to be right next to you along the path to your goals.

COST:  Tiered pricing starts at 1.50% of assets under management per year and includes Investment Management and Ongoing Financial Planning services.

Tax Planning

Being a tax-centric financial planning firm, it only made sense to add full tax preparation and tax planning services to our offerings.

Whether you just need your taxes filed or you are looking for ways to reduce your tax bill into the future, there’s a customizable solution when working with Cadenza.

Tax planning allows us to explore things we can actually exercise some control over, and it can immediately produce short- and long-term results that are both tangible and quantifiable.

As an Enrolled Agent, I’m in a unique position of not only being a tax expert, but also being able to stand behind the tax advice I give to my clients through representation in front of the IRS.

Income Tax Preparation

Tax return preparation for individuals (Form 1040), corporations, LLCs, partnerships, trusts, and estates.  Includes audit defense service.

Tax Planning and Advisory Services

Many people choose to prepare their taxes themselves.  For many, it might be cut and dry.  But one of the noticeably absent features of self-preparing is a lack of direction or advice as to what you can do differently to reduce your future tax liability.

Cadenza offers ongoing planning and short-term engagements that can significantly boost the amount of income and investment gains you keep EVERY SINGLE YEAR. If you think investment compounding is nice, wait until you see what compounding your tax savings looks like.

Just a sample of what tax prep and tax planning can look like:

  • How to properly take advantage of your business’ corporate structure and how to maintain its compliance
  • Quarterly IRS estimated taxes and preparing income tax projections with a high degree of focus on self-employed individuals and small business owners
  • Reviewing the impact of income and deductions, contributions, major purchases and the sale of investments
  • Tax strategies for dealing with rental or primary real estate and like-kind property exchanges
  • Analyses to determine your best choice of business structure involving entities, LLCs, partnerships, and trusts
  • Retirement planning options and optimal modeling of distributions when it comes time
  • Taxation of employee stock options and restricted stock exercise strategies
  • Tax consequences of acquiring or selling businesses and business assets
  • Tax efficient strategies for gifting and charitable contribution strategies
  • Estate and trust tax planning (for example, Charitable Remainder Trusts)

Estate Planning

Trust Funding Service – $300

A trust isn’t worth the paper it’s written on unless it’s been funded properly.  If the estate attorney who drafted your trust did not thoroughly discuss with you the process of funding and titling specific assets, I can help you get your house in order.

Trust Review – $300/$500

Tax laws and circumstances change every year. Is your simple or complex trust up to date?
